My thoughts on this book...

Young, handsome and heir to the family fortune, Townsend Elliot Lidsaw, Lord Everod, had everything to look forward to. That is, until the betrayal of one small girl changed everything. Having been spied in the midst of seducing his father's wife, Everod is forced to not only endure his father's wrath but is banished from his family's home as well. Everod departs for London, but not before vowing his revenge.

Although nearly twelve years has passed since that fateful day, Everod is still bearing the scar of his father's rage. Hearing that his family is visiting London, he decides that now is as good a time as any to settle the score. And who better to start with than the very girl who simply couldn't keep her mouth shut...Miss Maura Keighly.

Accompanying her Aunt and Uncle to London, the last person Maura had imagined seeing is, Everod. His presence not only startles her nerves, but reminds her of the promise he had made many years before. The promise of revenge.

For Everod, the plan was a simple one...Seduce Miss Keighly and ruin her reputation just as she did his. It should be an easy feat, after all, Everod has felt nothing but hatred toward the young girl who tore his family apart. I love it when the hero believes he is in control, and then suddenly the heroine has him realizing just how wrong he is, lol.

Scandalous by Night was a tale of passions, seduction, betrayals and revenge. The characters were wonderfully written and the plot intriguing. The love scenes...well, let's just say I'm a big fan of adding a little rain in to the mix ;)

This happens to be the fourth book in Barbara Pierce's Carlisle Series. This series also happens to be the one that started my love of her stories. I'm looking forward to future stories by this author, until then I will find myself working on her back list.
